ISCHUA - James M. Forrest of Route 16 died Tuesday (July 23, 2013) at his home following a long illness.

Born March 3, 1932, at the Mountain Clinic in Olean, he was a son of George L. and Phyllis Murphy Forrest. In 1953 in Ischua, he came home from the U.S. Navy and married his sweetheart, Roberta "Bobbie Jean" Learn, who died in 1968. In October 1981 in Portville, he married his partner and best friend, Joyce Stuck Everitt, who survives.
Raised in the Boardman area of Olean, Jim was a 1949 graduate of Olean High School and served in the Navy from 1950 to 1953. He was employed at Acme Electric of Cuba and Daystrom's of Olean, each for several years. Mr. Forrest was employed at Dresser-Rand of Olean as an accountant from 1970 to 1993, when he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed life to the fullest.
Surviving besides his wife is a son, Kim (Sue Whitman) Forrest of Corry, Pa.; two daughters, Loretta "Lori" Forrest of Allegany and Colleen (Fran) Donavon of Olean; six grandchildren, John (Devin Kio) Bean, Bryan (Lauren) Forrest, Adam (Ashley) Forrest, Emily Bean, Karen Forrest and Kayla Forrest; five great-granddaughters, Molli and Abigail Pettit, Kayleigh and Addison Forrest and Anna Marie Bean; a brother, Edward Forrest of Olean; many nieces and nephews; and many friends near and far.
He was predeceased by a brother, George "Bill" Forrest; and a sister, Mary Bews.
According to Mr. Forrest's wishes, there will be no services.
