OLEAN - Jeannine M. Baker, 85, of 228 N. Fifth St., passed away Sunday (March 9, 2014), with her loving children at her side in the Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Jeannine was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Buffalo, and was a devoted daughter of Angelo Antonio and Lillian E. Clark DiGregorio.
Jeannine was a receptionist at the Linwood Center in Olean. She loved animals of all kinds, and was a dog breeder of German Shepards and Boxers. An avid Buffalo Bills fan, she also enjoyed playing cards and attending the opera. Jeannine loved people and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jeannine is survived by two sons, Anthony (Lori) Kijewski of Allegany and Bill (Pam) Baker of Olean; a daughter, Cathy Hanmann of Olean; nine grandchildren, Shannan (Chester) Francois, Renee (Kevin) Martinelli, Alison Baker, Ashley (Tara Weatherley) Baker, Andrea Baker, Craig Baker, Chris (Deb) Hanmann, and Brianna and Brittany Richardson; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn (Don) Mergenhagen of Orchard Park; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (March 12, 2014), at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., at which time a funeral service will be held. The Rev. David E. Tourville, parochial vicar of St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Buffalo, at the family's convenience.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SPCA of Cattaraugus County, 2944 Route 16, P.O. Box 375, Olean, NY 14760, or to an animal rescue of the donor's choice.
