SALAMANCA - Mrs. Judy Hunt, 70, of Salamanca, died Wednesday (Dec. 4, 2013) at her home following a long illness surrounded by her family.
Born on Aug. 31, 1943, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Mary Beatty Young. She was married on June 6, 1964, to Mr. William Hunt, who survives.
Mrs. Hunt was employed as the office manager at the former Hazard-Rhodes Insurance Company in Salamanca. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and Elkdale Country Club.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, James (Laurie) Hunt of Salamanca and Thomas (Shawne) Hunt of Great Valley; two daughters, Laura (Paul Zajac) Hunt of White Lake, Mich., and Mary (Steve) McCord of Salamanca; nine grandchildren, William Hunt, Lauren Hunt, and Kyle Hunt, all of Salamanca, Elizabeth Hunt and Madeline Hunt of White Lake, Mich., Kaleigh Hunt and Alexander Hunt, both of Great Valley, and Brennen Nolet and Addison McCord, both of Salamanca; three sisters, Diane (Daniel) Dolecki of Salamanca, Barbara (Jack) Gould of Florida, Patricia Yehl of Salamanca; four brothers, Donald (Nin Abrams) Young of Salamanca, David (Flo) Young of North Carolina, Jerome (Kim) Young of Salamanca and Dennis Young of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Juanita Smallman and JoAnn Haley.
There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday (Dec. 14, 2013) at a time to be announced in Our Lady of Peace Parish with the Rev. Joseph Porpiglia, of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gowanda, as celebrant. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
