""Aunt June,"" as she was known by many, was a longtime caregiver and a generous woman. She was born April 22, 1926, in Olean and was the daughter of Edward Eugene and Minnie Visingarde Babcock. On March 22, 1945, at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean, she married Anthony J. ""Tony"" Giunta, who predeceased her June 2, 1999.
Mrs. Giunta had spent the last two years with her son in Antelope, Calif., but other than that had resided in Olean all of her life. She was a 1944 graduate of Olean High School and worked for 18 years at the former Castle Restaurant prior to her retirement in 1974. She attended Christ United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving are one son, Larry (Evangeline) Giunta of Sacramento; four grandchildren, Monique Giunta, Anthony Giunta and twins Jon Giunta and Michael Giunta; eight great-grandchildren; and several very special nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her very dear friends, Doris Williams and Vivian Russell.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Lawrence Babcock, Ira Babcock and Edward Babcock; an infant brother, Joseph Babcock; and an infant sister, Marian Babcock.
