MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Nathan Z. Johns of Morristown, formerly of Machias, N.Y., died Sunday (May 19, 2013) in Chicago while on business.
Born on Oct. 10, 1969, in Springville, N.Y., he was a son of Phil and Linda Faust Johns.
Nathan was a graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School in Olean, N.Y., class of 1988, and a 1992 graduate with honors of LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y.
He was a member of the Georgia National Guard. Nathan was employed by the Office of Currency Control out of Boston, Mass. He previously was employed by the FDIC in Washington, D.C., for several years.
He was a member of the Machias Fire Department, the Monson Fire Department in Massachusetts and Our Lady of Mercy Church youth ministries in New Jersey.
Surviving besides his parents, of Machias, are two brothers, Andrew (Sandra) Johns of Alexandria, Va., and Benjamin (Jin Lan) Johns of Gaithersburg, Md.; three nieces, Cindy, Evelyn and Fiana Johns; his grandfather, T. LeRoy Johns of Franklinville, N.Y.; and a loving companion, Aurelia Carmody of Morris Plains, N.Y.
Friends may gather with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (June 15, 2013) in St. Philomena's Roman Catholic Church, 26 Plymouth Ave., Franklinville, with the Rev. Robert Marino as celebrant. Burial will be in Yorkshire Cemetery.
