PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Patricia A. Tuttle, 90, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Custer City, passed away on Friday (Sept. 27, 2013) at Manorcare, Bethel Park.

She was born on March 17, 1923, in Bradford, the daughter of the late Edward and Magdalena Wasson Townsend. On Sept. 28, 1946, at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Bradford, she married Fred L. "Tutt" Tuttle Jr., who preceded her in death on July 4, 2001. She was a 1941 graduate of the Bradford Area High School and she attended the Rochester Business Institute.

She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sally Wister Chapter. She was also a member of the Evans Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewis Run, where she was formerly the church librarian, member of the Administration Council, church historian, missions secretary and the Sunday school class secretary. She loved visiting her family, shopping and writing letters to family, friends and her pen pals in Switzerland, whom she had been writing to since grade school. She was formerly employed by the Bradford Hospital as a medical secretary, the Bradford Credit Rating Bureau as a collection clerk and the Evans Memorial United Methodist Church as the church secretary, until her retirement in 1994. She also co-owned the former Tutt's Big and Tall in East Bradford with her husband.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Demeritt of Bowmansville and Sheila (Robert) Pasquantonio of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Townsend; and her son-in-law, Maurice Demeritt.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday (Oct. 1, 2013) at the Mascho Funeral Home Inc., Bradford, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Lynn Ostrander, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial and committal services with the Rev. Larry Corner, pastor of Evans Memorial United Methodist Church, will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.

The family has asked memorial contributions in her memory be made to either the Evans Memorial United Methodist Church, 1447 South Avenue, Lewis Run, PA 16738; or the PKD Foundation, P.O. Box 871847, Kansas City, MO 64187-1847.
