OLEAN - Robert J. Frisina Sr. ("Rabbit"), of Olean, passed away on Sunday (Sept. 15, 2013) at the Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Allegany on Feb. 3, 1939, he was the youngest child of William M. and Margaret Letro Frisina. Bob was a 1957 graduate of Allegany High School, where he was a proud member of their football team. He later graduated from the Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse.
For 37 years, Mr. Frisina was an owner and operator of the Halwig Funeral Home Inc. in Olean and Allegany. He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, former member of the JayCees and the Lion's Club. In his retirement, he enjoyed his woodworking and his 1957 Thunderbird.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn, of 50 years, he is survived by his three children, Rose (Vincent) Lisi of Olean, Robert J. Frisina Jr. of Olean and Lisa Frisina of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Olivia and Audrey Clement; and a nephew, Vincent (Cara) Fratercangelo.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, William M. Frisina; and two sisters, Gloria A. Frisina and Rose Marie Fratercangelo.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 18, 2013) at St. Bonaventure Church, Allegany. Father James Vacco, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
