LITTLE GENESEE - Robert N. Blauvelt, 65, of 8393 Rt. 417 W., passed away Sunday (Nov. 4, 2018) in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo, following a brief illness.

Born July 3, 1953, in Elmira, he was the son of Wayne and Maybelle Cummins Blauvelt. On March 22, 1975, in Bolivar, he married the former Michelle Scott, who survives.

Bob was a graduate of Bolivar Central School, Class of 1971. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1971 to 1973 in Berlin, Germany.

He was employed by Dresser Rand Co. in Olean as an assembler for 38 years, retiring in 2011.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 616 in Olean, the Bolivar Horseshoe League, and enjoyed woodworking and four-wheeling.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Dane Blauvelt of Fort Mitchell, Ky., and Drew (Carolyn Rhodes) Blauvelt of Bolivar; three granddaughters, Hannah, Jennah and Savannah; two brothers, Bill (Millie) Blauvelt of Shinglehouse, Pa., and Cliff (Judy) Blauvelt of Las Vegas Nev.; two sisters, Marion (Richard) Ferrari of Rochester and Sue Stives of Bolivar; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Les Blauvelt.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 10, 2018) at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar. A memorial service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. Rev. David Herne, of the Heritage Aflame Ministries, will officiate.
