OLEAN - Rodney R. Waldrip, of 2562 Windfall Road, passed away Sunday (July 8, 2012) in Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Rod was born Jan. 9, 1951, in Lock Haven, Pa., and was a son of Jeffie and Ann Galbraith Waldrip. On July 14, 2008, he married Jean I. Beyers, who survives.
Rod was a 1969 graduate of Olean High School. He began working at Clark Bros. in Olean almost right out of school for nearly 40 years. He continued to work at Dresser-Rand as an inspector up until 2011, when he stopped due to illness.
Surviving Rod, besides his wife, are his mother, Ann Waldrip of Olean; a son, Jason A. Waldrip of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Gregory R. (Christine) Waldrip of Ashburn, Va.; a half-sister, Karan (Mark) Cook of Warren, Pa.; and two nephews, Greg and Andrew.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (July 14, 2012) in Bethany Lutheran Church, 1706 Leo Moss Drive, Olean. The Rev. Marie A. Meeks, pastor, will officiate. A reception will be held following the service at the church.
