KILL BUCK - Shirley A. Case-Blackmon, 79, died Sunday (April 20, 2014) at Absolut Care of Salamanca following a short illness.
Born on Dec. 4, 1934, in Salamanca, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Russett Smith. She was married May 19, 2007, to Keith Blackmon, who predeceased her July 11, 2011.
Shirley was a graduate of Alfred State College. She was employed as a site director for Meals on Wheels and worked at Community Action for more than 30 years.
Shirley was a member of the Great Valley Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed square dancing, drawing, painting and spending time with her family.
Surviving are four daughters, Joyce Baker of Great Valley, Cathy Case of Allegany, Molly Griner of Salamanca and Becky (Dean) Yarnes of Great Valley; three sons, David Case of South Carolina, Ron (Aletha) Case of Detroit, Mich., and Scott Case of Kill Buck; a son-in-law, George Redeye of Kill Buck; two daughters-in-law, Earlene "Dale" Case of Falconer and Wilma "Willie" Case of North Carolina.; 19 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; a brother, George Smith of Alabama; two sisters, Rae (Jack) Early of Springville and Marsha (Larry) Mick of West Virginia; and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, Claude Case and Timothy Case; and two sisters, Bonnie Shongo and Margaret Brown.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Mount Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville.
