ALLEGANY - Stanley E. Bush, of 4137 Five Mile Road, passed away Thursday (Aug. 29, 2013) at Olean General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born Feb. 6, 1924, in Olean, he was the son of Martin and Monica Giermack Bush. On Nov. 10, 1944, in Transfiguration Church in Olean, he married Gladys M. Pierce, who survives.
Mr. Bush was a former employee of Olean Tile Company for 12 years and in 1953 began employment for Cooper Industries, where he retired as a forman after 35 years. He was good at construction work and built many houses in the area during the years.
He was a member of the Creekside Chapel in Allegany, and enjoyed hunting for relaxation as well as small scale farming.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Joyce (Robert) Kibler of Allegany; four grandchildren, R. Tim Bush, Michelle (Scott) Rickicki, Kelly (Douglas) Patrone and Shanna (Allan) Dunlap; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Gloria) Bush of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Ronald E. Bush on Nov. 4, 1996; two brothers, Paul Bush and Walter Bush; and one sister, Sophie France.
A visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 31, 2013) at the Creekside Chapel in Allegany, with funeral and committal services at 1 p.m. The Rev. Adam Stein will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
