OLEAN - Trudy M. Capitani Stark, of 1766 Happy Hollow Road, passed away Wednesday (July 11, 2018) at her home, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born Aug. 16, 1951, in Olean, she was the daughter of Robert and Elva Hollamby Austin. She married Philip E. Stark, who survives.

Trudy was a graduate of Portville High School. She worked for many years for Carpet Town in Olean. She owned and operated the Eldred Tasty Freeze and Cappy's Diner in Eldred. She later was the broker and owner of Golden Key Realty in Portville.

She was a member of the former St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Weston Mills and the former Cattaraugus County Real Estate Association.

Trudy loved spending time with her family, and helping all of them in whatever she could.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, David (Melissa) Weatherly of Olean, Andrea (Donald) Kinnaird of Weston Mills and Randy Martin, Howard Martin and William Martin, all of Olean; four step-children, Christopher P. (Vicky) Stark of New Brunswick, Mass., Marian (Adam) Brinker of Schenectady, Monica (Marte) Stark of Corpus Christi, Texas and Philip (Laura) Stark of Charlotte, N.C.; one special granddaughter, Dakota Weatherly; 11 step-grandchildren; her siblings, Robert (Sherry) Austin Jr. of Weston Mills, Alice (Harold) Worthington of Weston Mills, Joseph (Jean) Austin of Obi, Alan (Kim) Austin of Portville, Kirk (Peggy) Austin of Weston Mills, Wendy (Rick) Parry of Obi, Paul (Laurie Torpey) Austin of Obi; her first husband, David Weatherly Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her former husband, Donald Capitani; and one niece, Carrie Austin.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean, and from 11 a.m. to noon Monday (July 16, 2018), at which time funeral services will start. Rev. Clara Wilder, pastor of River's Edge United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.
