William Houghton Obituary

BELFAST - William D. "Bill" Houghton, 71, of Route 19, Belfast, passed away Saturday (March 23, 2013) at his home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1941, in Warsaw, a son of the late Franklin and Betty Brown Houghton.
A 10-year resident of the area - previously of Ventura County, Calif., since 1971 and originally of the Bliss area - Bill was a member of Eagle Valley Lodge 1161 in Bliss and was a 32nd-Degree Mason at the Valley of Coudersport, Pa.
He was a self-employed contractor at DBA Bill's Landscaping, beginning in 1976. He then went on to work in the lawn and garden department at Target in Camarillo, Calif. Bill belonged to numerous square-dancing clubs in Ventura County and was a member of the Rambling Squares Camping Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Darlene Workman Houghton; and a brother, Richard C. Houghton.
Survivors include a sister, Marjorie Houghton of Centerville; three nephews, Jim Young of Freedom, Jeff (Debbie) Young of Rushford and Joe (Griselle) Young of Lantana, Fla.; a niece, Jennifer Young of Yorkshire; four grandnieces, Teal Randall and Deanna, Kristyn and Katie Young; a great-grandnephew, Mitchell Randall; and a great-grandniece, Lacey Randall.
Friends of Bill may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (April 6, 2013) at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A memorial service will be held following calling hours at noon with his Masonic brothers as celebrants. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lyonsburg Cemetery, Bliss.
