WEST VALLEY - Jane I. Hughey, 67, of Route 240, died Tuesday (April 1, 2014) in Buffalo Mercy Hospital.

Born Feb. 24, 1947, in West Valley, she was the daughter of Willard and Isabel Dills Hughey.
She graduated from West Valley Central School. She was an investigator for the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services in Olean. Prior to that, she worked as a dental hygienist for several schools.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in West Valley. She was a member of the Red Hatters Ono Group, West Valley. She enjoyed playing cards at the church on Tuesdays, gardening and making homemade cards. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sisters, Ann Dahlman of West Valley, Janet Marchbanks of Fairport and Karen (Richard) Platten of Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (April 5, 2014) at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in West Valley with the Rev. Dena Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in West Valley.
