OLEAN - Dana L. Rickey, of West Henley Street, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (May 31, 2014).

Born Dec. 9, 1971, in Olean, he was the son of August C. Rickey and Judith Luntz Smith.
He was a 1990 graduate of Hinsdale Central School and served with the U.S. Army from 1990 to 1991. He was a semi-truck driver for several companies, most recently for Schuster Trucking Co. in Iowa. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed riding in the Kingsmen Motorcycle Club.
Surviving are two brothers, James (Annette) Rickey of Olean and Curtis (Pearl) Rickey of Ischua; a sister, Linda (James) Medders of Trussville, Ala.; a half-sister, Rose Nettles of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends will be received on Sunday (June 8, 2014) at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State St., Olean, from noon to 2 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Chuck Maine, pastor of Epic Church, Olean, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
