LYNDON - William R. Evans, of North Center Road, died Sunday (June 1, 2014) at his home following a long illness.

Born July 5, 1928, in Oakmont, W.Va., He was the son of Mitchell and Eveline Paugh Evans. On June 26, 1948, in Kitzmiller, Md., he married Anna Louise Jones, who died April 19, 2014.
Mr. Evans was employed at the Ford plant on Woodlawn Avenue in Hamburg, the Buffalo public schools, and Buffalo State Hospital, from which he retired.
Surviving are two sons, Clifford (Carol) Evans and Darl (Louise) Evans, both of Lyndon; a daughter, Mary (Charles) Stewart of Rushford; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Twila Kimble of Petersburg, W.Va.
He was predeceased by a son, Richard (Cathy) Evans; and a brother, Raymond Evans.
Friends may gather with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Babbitt and Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday (June 6, 2014). Officiating will be Dennis Durfee, chaplin with Hospice. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville.
