LITTLE VALLEY - Keith C."Hack" McClain Sr., 64, of Route 353, died Saturday (July 26, 2014) at his home, after a long battle with illness.
Born Aug. 27, 1949, in Olean, he was the son of the late Charles & Myrtle Jones McClain. Mr. McClain was a graduate of Salamanca High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division and the 504th MP Battalion in Phubai, South Vietnam.
Mr. McClain was employed by the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and Conrail as a Track Foreman and later as a track inspector for New York State.
He was a member of Randolph American Legion Post 181, Randolph Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6533, past commander of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535 in Salamanca, and he was a Boy Scout leader in Salamanca. He enjoyed hunting, and was a former commissioner or the Cattaraugus County Midget Football League.
Surviving are two sons, Keith (Kelly) McClain of Little Valley, Christopher (Rachel) Incorvaia of Georgetown, Del.; a daughter, Shanna McClain of Salamanca; a grandson, Raine McClain of Little Valley; a sister, Lynn (John) Stuve of Carrollton; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McClain also had his beloved dog, Lilo.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday (July 30, 2014) in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, when a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Michael Trenchard officiating. Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley. Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post 535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John Ahrens Post 5296.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263.
