CUBA - Theresa Berardi, of 342 N. Shore Road, passed away peacefully Saturday (August 2, 2014) at home.

Born Nov. 9, 1945, in Kavala, Greece, she was a daughter of Vasilis and Christina Michaloglou Doxis. On Jan. 23, 1966, in the Bronx, he married John P. Berardi, who passed away Dec. 7, 2005.

Mrs. Berardi was a selfless caregiver to family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and especially spending time with family. She was also fond of traveling, but her favorite vacation destination was Greece to visit her family. Morning sunrises while doing her daily Bible reading was one of her favorite pass times while living on Cuba Lake.

She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville, and a member of Our Lady of Angels Church in Cuba.

Surviving are three sons, John Berardi of Morganville, N.J., Mike (Amy) Berardi of Wellsville, and Chris (Christine) Berardi of Cuba; grandchildren, Angela, Michael, Nikolas, Dominic, Anthony, Analiese, and Lily; a sister, Vasiliki Ayers of Okeechobee, Fla.; a cousin, Christina Michaloglou of Hamburg, Germany; an aunt, Themetra Thema of Athens, Greece; an uncle, Mehali (Anoula) Michaloglou of Kavala, Greece.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Christina Rose Berardi.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday (August 7, 2014) at Our Lady of Angels Church, 50 South St., Cuba. The Rev. Dennis J. Mancuso will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 50 South Street, Cuba, NY 14727 or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6 Maple Ave, Wellsville, NY 14895.
