TUCSON, Ariz. - Patricia "Pat" Riley, formerly of Rushford, N.Y., and Arcade, N.Y., passed away Jan. 13 peacefully in her sleep at her home.
A daughter of Claude and Edith Newman, Pat was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Albany, N.Y., and had just celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband Robert.
Pat graduated twice from Arcade Central School, once in 1938 and again in 1939 from the advanced honors program. In 1941, she graduated from the Deaconess Hospital School Of Nursing in Buffalo, N.Y., and in 1943 was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Naval Nursing Corps. Pat worked in private nursing for many years at Warsaw and Cuba hospitals, Acme Electric Corp., Rushford Central School and Delevan Central School.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, James and Robert; three daughters, Sara, Suzanne and Jean; six grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, Jillian, Brian, Bridgette and Danica; four great-grandchildren, Garret, Kira, Trevor and Ashlyn; and her brother, Charles Newman of Arcade.
She was predeceased by her sister, Sara.
