BELMONT - Pearl Gertrude "Gert" Gelser, 82, of 3 Willets Ave., died unexpectedly Monday (April 29, 2013) at home.

She was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Belmont, a daughter of Edward and Rose (Masten) Scott.
Pearl was a lifelong resident of Belmont and was formerly employed at Acme Electric in Cuba and Macler Industries in Friendship.
She is survived by five daughters, Mary (Thomas) Layman of Belmont, Christina (Michael) Christen of Holland, Rose (Bill) Thomas and Kathy Dorsey, both of Angelica, and Susan (Dennis) Bodway of Inman, S.C.; three sons, John Conklin and Gordon (Judy) Hadsell, both of Belmont, and Earl "Bub" (Jackie) Hadsell of Cuba; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Harris of Angelica; and one brother, Jack Scott of Black Creek; her best friend, Donna Layman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Charlie "Zip" Conklin; two grandchildren, Larry and Damian Hadsell; eight brothers, Donald, Harold, George, Vern, Walter, Ernie, Kenneth and Leon Scott; and two sisters, Helen Peterson and Mabel Scott; and her husband, Orlo Gelser.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 17 Schuyler St., Belmont. The funeral will be Thursday (May 2, 2013) at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Frank Pasquale presiding. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
