ELLICOTTVILLE - Dennis M. Abriatis, 60, of Ellicottville passed away Saturday (June 8, 2013) at his home.
He was born Dec. 13, 1952, in Marietta, Ohio, a son of the late William Abriatis and Grace Kelly Abriatis, who survives and resides in Ellicottville.
Mr. Abriatis worked as a carpenter at the University at Buffalo and also in the Ellicottville and Bradford, Pa., areas for many years.
He was a town of Ellicottville councilman for 13 years, coached the West Valley Little League Baseball team, was a St. Bonaventure University basketball season ticket holder for more than 10 years and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He also loved gardening and antiquing.
Mr. Abriatis is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy (Schaming) Abriatis. He is also survived by three sons, William (Sara) Abriatis, Joseph (Emily Page) Abriatis and David Abriatis, all of Arlington, Va.; a brother, Thomas Abriatis of Ellicottville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, William Abriatis.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., Little Valley, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be said Friday (June 14, 2013) at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Ellicottville. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Ellicottville.
