Fred Krohn Obituary

Krohn, Fred Henry
Age 93

Long-time area farmer, passed away February 17, 2013. Fred was born March 2, 1919 in Walnut, Iowa to Detlef and Augusta (Sievers) Krohn and was united in marriage to Willetta Wild on November 6, 1940. Fred began farming in 1944, on a farm midway between Treynor and Council Bluffs, and lived on the same farm until about three months ago. He retired from farming in 1982 and went to work the next ten years at Iowa School for the Deaf and later at Area Thirteen. He was active in community affairs, Zion Congregational Church and entered into the Masonic Amber Lodge #569 on January 14, 1944. Fred also belonged to the Tangier Shrine in Omaha and their Arab Patrol. He was kind to all, and kept his wit and humor to the end. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Willetta "Willie" in 2008; grandsons, Baby Ryan Kuster and Christopher Feller; son-in-law, Ronald Pape; sister Elaine Nielsen; brothers, Harry, Eugene and Robert Krohn. Fred is survived by his 5 children, Caroly Pape, Persia, IA, Lynda Madden, Redondo Beach, CA, Fritz Krohn and wife Cathy, Council Bluffs, Jeanine Larsen and husband Scott, Harlan, IA, Sheila Bradley, Omaha; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews.
MASONIC SERVICES Thursday 6pm followed by VISITATION until 8pm, with the Arab Patrol Honor Guard to stand guard. FUNERAL SERVICES Friday 11am, all at Funeral Home. Luncheon to follow immediately at the Masonic Lodge. Interment Hardin Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Tangier Shrine and Treynor Fire and Rescue. CUTLER-O'NEILL-MEYER-WOODRING
