Age 97

Sturgis, SD, formerly of Omaha, NE, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Sturgis Regional Senior Care in Sturgis. She was born in Storm Lake, IA to Clara and Harry Hoffeins. Her husband, John L. "Tip" Saggau, was a well known sports announcer in Omaha. Tip always referred to her as his "Rosebud". In High School, she excelled in swimming and even taught the sport to youngsters in the community center in Denison, IA. Addie won several medals for her swimming skills. Tip, Addie and their children enjoyed many summers at their lake home outside Park Rapids, MN, on Big Sand Lake. The home was formerly owned by Tip's parents, Heinie and Rachel Saggau, and before that by the original owners, his grandparents, Ella and John Saggau. Fond memories of family reunions are cherished by her family members. Survivors include her 5 children, Di Saggau, Fort Myers, FL, Paul Saggau, Arlington, NE, Tom Saggau, Sequim, WA, Sally Reiman McLillop, Deadwood, SD, and Joanne Moore, Wichita, KS; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Tom Saggau; and her parents.
Upon her request, Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 4pm Monday, December 17, 2012, at Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Omaha, NE.
