Roth, Bartley Jon
Jan 23, 1954 - Dec 20, 2012

Omaha, NE. Bart died at home of a presumed heart attack. Bart was born in Biloxi, MS where his father was stationed in the Air Force. Bart grew up in Aurora, CO. He was a natural athlete who excelled in sports. At Aurora Central High School he garnered many football awards and was honored as a distinguished alumnus. In 1972 he went to the University of Colorado on a football scholarship. He was known for his hard hits and competitiveness. His senior year he was a team captain for the 1977 Orange Bowl team. After his playing days he was an assistant coach at several universities including CU. He subsequently worked in a family landscape company for many years and resided in Highlands Ranch, CO. The last two years he lived in Omaha, NE with his wife, Carolyn, and worked for a local real estate company. He often said it was ironic that a "Buff for life" lived in the middle of Big Red country. He loved kids and would never say no to them. His great sense of humor and his big heart will truly be missed. His parents and brother, Tim, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Carolyn; brothers Jeff and Scott; sister Teri; nieces and nephews.
SERVICES will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11am at the West Center Chapel. A memorial service in Colorado will be announced in the spring. Contributions may be made in his memory to Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief effort. HEAFEY-HEAFEY-HOFFMANN
