Born in Utica, MO to Evert and Stella Culling. He received a BS from the University of Missouri and ME from Southern Illinois College of Engineering. June entered the Navy in 1945 during World War II. He worked for the Naval Ordnance Laboratory in MD from 1948 to 1955 as a participant in the Defense Nuclear Agency's atmospheric testing program analyzing blasts at Nevada Proving Grounds, Bikini Atoll and Enewetak. He married Helen (Polly) Gish March 9, 1952. In 1955, June moved to Barksdale AFB, Louisiana in the Office of Operations Analysis where he designed electronic countermeasures. In LA, Polly and June had 3 children: Alison, Thelma and Dan. In 1963, he accepted the position of Chief of Plans and Tactics Division at Offutt AFB in Omaha. They had 4th child Joan. June was an accomplished computer hobbyist, car mechanic, genealogist and all around renaissance man. June retired in 1979. He is preceded in death by his wife Polly Culling; daughter Alison; daughter Thelma; and son Dan. He is survived by his daughter Joan, her husband Col Gary Brown and their 4 boys, Edmund, Andrew, Thomas and Philip; his grandson 1 Lt. Oliver C. Berglund, his wife Laurie and their son Gavin; his granddaughter Andrea E Culling-Berglund; and his grandson Brenton Culling.
Family will receive friends Saturday 11am-1pm at West Center Chapel with FUNERAL SERVICE at 1pm. GRAVESIDE SERVICE Sunday 2pm, Utica Cemetery in Utica, Missouri.
