Lois V. Nelson, 76, of Omaha, NE. Passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Methodist Hospital. Lois was born July 7, 1936 in Miles City, MT, the first child of Lars and Effie Kolberg. The Kolberg family moved to Glendive, MT, where Lois attended grade school and graduated from Dawson County High School in 1954. She received her diploma in Nursing from Presentation School of Nursing of Miles City, MT in 1957. Lois married Dale W. Nelson in Glendive that same year and moved to Seattle, WA, where Dale attended the University of Washington and Lois worked as a Registered Nurse. After Dale's graduation, they moved back to Montana and in 1961, Lois and Dale moved to St. Paul, MN where they made their home for the next 17 years. Lois continued to work as an RN, part time, at Mounds Park Hospital and raised their 3 children. In 1978, Lois and Dale moved their family to Omaha, NE. Lois worked as an RN at Immanuel Medical Center for 17 years until she retired in 1996. Lois and Dale moved to Pacific Springs Village in 1998, where Lois enjoyed new friends and the many activities available at PSV. Lois is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dale W. Nelson; children, Kristin L. Nelson of Omaha, Lisa E. (Martin) Freidel of Box Elder, SD, and Jon C. (Wendy) Nelson of Chester, VA; sister, Diane Moan of Cheyenne, WY; and 3 nieces.
