Antholz, Robert Dean "Bob"
Robert Dean "Bob" Antholz passed away peacefully on the morning of August 31, 2013 after complications from a battle with skin cancer. He was born on June 13, 1932 to Alvin D. and Leona (Edie) Antholz in Elk Creek, Nebraska. Bob served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War
as a jet engine mechanic and attained the rank of Airman First Class. He returned home in 1956 to Pawnee City, where he lived the rest of his life. Bob spent 45 years traveling the country as an over-the-road truck driver, mostly operating under the names Pawnee Grain Company and Canadian Pacific Transport, Inc. He was a member of the OOIA (Owner-Operators Independent Driver's Association) where he was on the Board of Directors for a short time. In an effort to expose fraud and abuse in the trucking industry, he was featured on CNN special report and testified before the United States Senate at the request of Senator Seaton in 1987. He married Donna Lea Brocker on February 2, 1957, and Mary Ann Kuhlmann on July 4, 1970. He is survived by three sisters: Delores Porter, Darlene "Mike" Ronsse, and Mary Ann Gates; and five children: Linda Sue Kirkland, Wesley Dean Antholz, Karen Lynn Dennis, Martin David Antholz, and Robert Douglas Antholz; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
