Into our galaxy was born a star on June 16, 1922, Bettie (Boop) Helmle Tolson with a smile as wide as the Milky Way. She loved everyone and succeeded at everything she did. She was a home party lady for Peggy Newton Cosmetics in the 1940's, and Miss Peter Pan Peanut Butter in the early 50's, had her own TV show with KMTV "Your TV Home" featuring cooking and interviews with Omaha's own and national celebrities. She was the first "Miss Color TV" selected in New York City! Proud of her work, she had an entertainment booking agency called National Orchestra Service. She later retired to have another child. When she went back to work years later, she was the cosmetic lady at JC Penneys for many years. She ushered at the CWS, City Auditorium, Playhouse, Orpheum Theater, Methodist Hospital, and Qwest well into her 80's until her health wouldn't allow her to anymore. She gracefully gave up her car to her special friend Tony Salamone a brother with hospice who worked at Methodist Hospital. Her smile and all her bright hats will sure be missed.
