Omaha. Passed peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 21, 2013. Born September 25, 1933 in Lincoln to Doren and Mabel Bowers, he lived most of his life in Nevada, Nebraska and Texas. Ed was a loving husband and devoted father, raising three sons and a daughter all of whom gave him, in return, loving grandchildren. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, a devoted follower of Christ, and an ordained deacon of the Baptist church. He found success as a draftsman for engineering firms in Texas as well as the state of Texas itself. In his spare time he enjoyed square dancing with his family and flying remote controlled aircraft. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Doren and Mabel, and son Frank. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois Teel Bowers; son, Richard (Elizabeth) Bowers; daughter-in-law, Julie Bowers; son, Bruce (Brenda) Bowers; daughter, Stacy (Steve) Eckhart; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends during calling hours of 5-7pm on Friday, August 23 at Crosby Funeral Home, 11902 W. Center in Omaha. The FUNERAL will be Saturday morning at 10am at the same location. CROSBY BURKET SWANSON GOLDEN
