To the Kripke Family:
I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Rabbi Kripke. He was my professor at Creighton in the mid-80's,
for two theology classes, and he was wonderful.
As a Jewish undergraduate at Creighton,
it was a blessing to have his rabbinic
presence on campus. Students, faculty,
and staff of all faiths loved & respected him. My life is richer for having known him.
May you be comforted.
"The memory of the righteous shall be as a blessing."

Even though I left Omaha many years ago, Rabbi Kripke, in my mind, will always be my rabbi. A wonderful man in every regard, he was decades ahead of his peers in allowing women to be called to the Torah. He and Dorothy left an enduring emotional and ethical foundation for those of us who grew up within their sphere of influence.

Rabbi Kripke was always in the corners of my family's life and though I knew him very little (I was the baby and had moved away) he was always a real presence. I feel quite bereft. Even though family members left us, Rabbi Kripke was always stll around...

Rabbi had a kind and gentle soul. I knew him for the last 9 months and I am so privileged to have meet him.

Rabbi Kripke was a cornerstone, no, a pillar, on which Omaha Jewry was based. He performed the wedding ceremonies of our parents, the blessings over our children, conducted the funerals of our loved ones, and continued to advise and teach through his newspaper column. Somehow, in his quiet, genteel way, Rabbi Kripke was able to touch everyone he met with his gentle spirit and grace. Thank you Hashem, for your gift of this wonderful Rabbi, and my thanks to dear Rabbi Kripke, for everything that he did for me, my son, and our family. It makes it even more imperative for me to continue to grow and learn, and to instill in my son the Jewish values that Rabbi Kripke lived and modeled every day of his life. His legacy is that of love, of kindness, of genuine interest in each child that stood in front of him, of comforting the bereaved and of celebrating the happy events that span generations of families.
Rabbi Kripke left us a rich legacy, of life, of love, of learning and teaching, forged of a currency that endures and glows more than gold.

I am so sorry for your loss. Rabbi Kripke was a wonderful man.

My family donated the land to build Beth El on Farnam Street. Even though my husband and I moved to Sun City, AZ in 2001, I was so pleased to have the chance to speak with him in September of 2012 when I came back to Omaha for my 50th high school reunion.

Rabbi Kripke was a favorite customer for many years at Omaha State Bank. He always had a twinkle in his eye. And, our birthdays were one day apart; however, 30 years!

May God bless his soul.
