Omaha. Passed away May 10, 2013. Services were held May 13, 2013 at Golden Hill Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Jenny Richman; husband, Ned Giventer; sister, Esther (Dan) Gordman; and daughter, Sindy Giventer. Born December 7, 1920, Pearl was a go-getter from a young age. At 12, she began selling used cars at her father's partnership, Richman King Motors. After High School, she brought her mathematics skills and innovation to Mutual of Omaha, where she invented a system to easily calculate percentages. With Ned by her side, they opened Railroad Jobbing, a plumbing and home improvement store, in the late 1940's, the Bali Hi Motel, in the 1960's near Offutt Air Force Base, and California Carpets in the late 1960's. Pearl spent extended winters, visiting family and friends, in California. When home, she volunteered within the community, enjoyed gardening, frequented the opera, live theater, and brought cheer to friends daily with her vivacious personality. She is survived by her daughter, Marlys Lebowitz, Los Angeles, CA; son, Paul (Suzanne) Giventer, Prescott, AZ; brother, Harry (Arlene) Richman, Omaha; grandchildren, Shealy, Grant, and Erik; and 3 great grandchildren.
