Papillion, NE. Passed away at the Veterans Hospital on February 9, 2013 due to complications from COPD. Served 22 years in USAF; B-52 navigator including 2 tours in Thailand; Squadron commander for 55th Avionics Squadron in Minot, ND; and retired as a Lt. Colonel while stationed at SAC headquarters, Offutt AFB. An active member of St. Columbkille Parish; Paralyzed Veterans of America; and VFW. He also was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus and Lifetime Kiwanis Member. Survived by wife Mitzi; daughter Lynn Schense (Don) of Papillion; son Gregory (Susan) of Gilbert, AZ; daughter Allison Alexander (Mark) of Overland Park, KS; and 6 grandchildren.
VISITATION is on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 1-8pm with the family receiving friends from 6-8pm and a ROSARY SERVICE at 7 PM at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary, Papillion, NE. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL is Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:30am at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Papillion, NE. Interment is at Resurrection Cemetery, Omaha, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to St. Columbkille Elevator Fund or St. Vincent DePaul. Send to St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 200 E. 6th St. Papillion, NE 68046. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of the Veteran' Hospital for the extraordinary care they provided.
