Age 73

Henderson, NV. Formerly of Kearney, NE and Hastings, NE, died Monday, December 24, 2012, at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. Myrtle was born on September 8, 1939 in Kearney to George A. and Pearl Amy (Penny) Crowell. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1958. Myrtle then attended Peru State College and also Kearney State Teachers College, where she earned a Masters Degree in Education. Myrtle taught school for 25 years in Nebraska and 10 years in Nevada. She married Marvin Gerald Deist on August 20, 1961 in Kearney. Myrtle is survived by her husband of 51 years, Marvin Gerald Deist; son David Allen Deist, Axtell,NE; daughter, Elaine Marthe' (Deist) Milteer and son-in-law Byron Louis Milteer, Warner Robins, GA; grandson Joshua Louis Milteer; granddaughter Georgia Aleece Mil-teer; grandson Elijah Noah Milteer; brother, Albert Crowell and sister-in-law Beverly Crowell, Elm Creek, NE; sisters, Florence Schmidt and brother-in-law Lavern, Marshfield, MO, and Doris Meeks, Sacramento, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Myrtle was preceded in death by an infant son Daniel Lee Deist; her parents; brothers, Robert Crowell, Patrick Crowell, and Mike Crowell; and sister Reba Crowell.
MEMORIAL SERVICES 9am Saturday, January 5, 2012, Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Pastor Michelle Reed will officiate and Burial will follow at Kearney Cemetery. No Visitation.
