ONEIDA >> Maricel Rafael Eaton, 40, of Oneida went to be with the Lord Aug. 28, 2013, after a battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Caramutan, La Paz, Tarlac, Philippines, the daughter of Peter and Fe Rafael.
She was educated in local schools in the Philippines and attended Aroullo University receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She was united in marriage on July 3, 2004 to Kory P. Eaton. The couple resided in the Kenwood Heights area. She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband and 5-year-old son, Kory D. Eaton.
She is survived by her father and mother, Peter and Fe Rafael; one sister, Mildred Rafael of the Philippines; her in-laws, Norman and Billie Eaton of Oneida; her Aunt Cora and Uncle Jim Bogue of Oneida; Annamae and Ceejay of Canada; Vangie and family of California; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in the Philippines; her special friends Beth and Gene Beasock; numerous Eaton and Richmond brothers and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews. Maricel was a gift to her family and her American family. She was truly an Angel of the Lord and will be so missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Main St., Oneida.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.at the Malecki Funeral Home, Inc., 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill, N.Y.

Cory...I was saddened to read of Maricel's passing. I was out of town for calling hours..please know I am thinking of you and your beautiful son. My deepest sympathy to you.

Maricel, you will be missed. Kory and little Kory. We are so sorry for you both. We loved Maricel so very much and will miss her so. She was a blessing for sure and didn't have enough time to please us all. We are here for you both always, that will never change. Love you both and you are in our prayers. Sorry to the whole family. Maricel always called Aunty Jean and Uncle Malcolm.
