Eaton, Kenneth F.* - Vernon Center  
VERNON CENTER > > Kenneth F. Eaton, age 86, of Skinner Road and 5713 Youngs Road, Vernon, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at the home of his son. He was born on July 11, 1928 in Clinton, N.Y., the son of Lyman and Irene (Trost) Eaton. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1945 where he was a member of the FFA and orchestra. Ken married Mary Jane Burke on Oct. 29, 1949 in the Vernon Center Presbyterian Church where he was a member, trustee, Elder and in the Men's Brotherhood. He was an avid bowler and bowled into his seventies. Ken farmed on the family farm until he retired at the age of 82. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Marianne Eaton and Roger and Rosemary Eaton; one daughter, Diane Thieme; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Derrick) Sharkey, Tristum (Jessica) Eaton, Megan (James) Gervasi, Tina (Dale) Bechtel, Becky (Bill) Colman, Trevor (Carolyn) Thieme, Justin (Amy) Eaton, Travis and Andy Eaton; 11 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brayden, Blake, and Brody Bechtel, Hayden and Olivia Eaton, Thomas and David Gervasi, Aidan Colman, Cora Eaton and Arabella Thieme. He is also survived by his best friends, his dog Foxie and his cat, Cocoa. Ken was predeceased by his mother, father, his wife Mary Jane, brother-in-law, Richard Burke and sister-in-law Elizabeth Bristol. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front St., Vernon. Mr. Eaton's funeral service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Spring burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery, Vernon Center, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church of Augusta and Vernon Center, 2345 Route 26, Oriskany Falls, N.Y. 13425, or the Vernon Center Fire Department, 5786 Youngs Road, Vernon Center, N.Y. 13477. Ernenwein, Connie F.* - Durhamville  
DURHAMVILLE > > Connie F. Ernenwein, 53, of 6659 State Route 46, Durhamville, died on Thursday morning, Dec. 18, 2014, in the emergency room of Oneida Healthcare after being stricken at home. Connie was born on June 16, 1961, in Phoenix, Ariz., the daughter of Clifford and Beverly West Durrett. She has been a resident of the area since 1969. Connie was a graduate of VVS High School, Class of 1980. On Jan. 22, 1983, Connie was united in marriage to Ken Ernenwein at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Verona. Before becoming disabled, Connie was employed as a production worker by the Madison Cortland ARC. Connie was a member of the New London Volunteer Fire Department and the Red Knights Motorcycle Club NY 19 Rome. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Surviving besides her loving husband of 33 years, Ken, and her parents, William and Beverly Wojdyla, of Verona, are two sons and a daughter-in-law, William "Billy" and Colleen Durrett, of Nicholasville, Ky., and Thomas Ernenwein, of Verona; two grandchildren, Shane and Jade Durrett; a sister, Wanda Hutchins, of Morrisville; her mother-in-law, Margaret "Peg" Ernenwein, of Ashburn, N.C.; her partner, Desiree Sebastian, of Durhamville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert (Sherri) Ernenwein, Stoney Point, N.C., Laurie (Jeff) Semo, of Taberg, and Tamara (Jeff) Hill, of Asheboro, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., with the Rev. Joseph F. Kehoe officiating. Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida. Ernst, DeEtte E.* - Sherburne  
SHERBURNE > > DeEtte E. Ernst, 88, of Sherburne, N.Y., formerly of Naples and Ocala, Fla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville. She was born March 24, 1926 in Eaton, a daughter of Lavern J. and Alice G. Westcott Morris and received her education in Eaton and Morrisville schools. On Nov. 30, 1982, DeEtte married Dean E. Ernst in Punta Gorda, Fla. She had worked in the insurance department of Key Bank until her retirement. DeEtte enjoyed bowling in couples leagues with her husband. She was of the Methodist Faith. She is survived by her husband, Dean; a daughter, Donna Marcellus of Cazenovia; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Arthur and Mildred Morris of Oneida; and Raymond Morris of Eaton; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Dr. Avery D. Bush; a sister, Minnie Marris; and a brother, Lawrence Morris. There will be no services or calling hours.
