ONEIDA - Helena M. Boylan Arnold, 91, formerly of Oneida Towers, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at the Extended Care Facility of the Oneida Healthcare Center where she had been a resident for the past seven years.
Born in Oneida on May 19, 1921, she was a daughter of John and Ella Dedrick Boylan. A lifelong resident of the area, she was educated in the Oneida schools. She married Robert H. Arnold, Sr. in Durhamville on Nov. 23, 1940. Mr. Arnold died June 14, 1986.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the Oneida Healthcare Center and Extended Care Facility. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, a member of the former Women of the Moose
, Oneida Chapter No. 272, Ladies of the Owls, Oneida Nest No. 2210, AARP, the American Legion Auxiliary, Oneida Post No. 169 and was a senior companion to several seniors.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Millie Salter of Bernhards Bay and Colleen and Donald Peters of Oneida; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry and Elaine Arnold and Robert H. Arnold, Jr. all of Clifton Park, George and Tricia Arnold of Chesapeake, Va., James and Peggy Arnold of Virginia Beach, Va.; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Edward and Jack Arnold, two grandsons, Kenneth Arnold and Scott Lambertson, five brothers, Frances, Kenneth, Norman, James and Donald Boylan, and one sister, Loretto Boylan Witte.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida and 10 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Richard Kapral, officiating. Interment will be made in West Verona Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 3-7 p.m., Friday. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Patients Fund at Extended Care Facility, c/o Oneida Healthcare Center Foundation, P.O. Box 705, Oneida, N.Y. 13421 and St. Joseph's Shrine, 121 St. Joseph Place, Oneida N.Y. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home.
