MORRISVILLE >> Kimberly M. Hilliard, 35, of Goff Road, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 as the result of injuries sustained from a tornado that struck her home.
She was born Feb. 28, 1979 in Oneida, a daughter of Donald and Connie Warner DeGroat, and was a graduate of Morrisville-Eaton Central School in 1997. She attended Cortland State College where she was a starter on the field hockey team and played in the NCAA championship. She later graduated from SUNY Oswego. Kimberly was a property manager for Conifer Realty in Rochester where she received the Outstanding Marketing Manager Award. She loved shopping, exercising and tanning. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hamilton.
Surviving are her fiancé, Robert "Bobby" Newman; her daughter, Ariana Hilliard; her parents, Donald and Connie DeGroat of Morrisville; maternal grandparents, Diana and Damon "Smokie" Keville of Chittenango; paternal grandmother, Janice DeGroat of Morrisville; brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Nicole DeGroat of Morrisville; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Gregory Austin Hilliard.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, July 15, from the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2369 Lake Moraine Road, Hamilton, N.Y.
Following the service, Kimberly will be laid to rest with her infant daughter, Paris Newman in the Peterboro Cemetery, Peterboro, N.Y.
Friends are invited to call at the Cornerstone Baptist Church on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
