NORTH BAY >> Mark A. "Logger Luke" Janes, 48, of North Bay, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born on Sept. 13, 1965, in Rome, the son of Roger and Suzanne Campbell Janes. He was a graduate of Camden Central High School, Class of 1983.
On Feb. 15, 2003, Mark was united in marriage to Cynthia Coonrod.
He owned and operated Holmes Lumber and Logging in Vienna for 20 years. For the last eight years, he was employed by Risk Reduction Resources.
Mark was an avid NASCAR and dirt racing fan.
Surviving besides his loving wife, Cynthia, of North Bay, and his mother, Suzanne Janes, of Vienna, are three daughters and a son-in-law, Jamie and John Finen of Oneida, Amber Janes of Cortland, and Heather Janes of North Bay; five sisters, Cindy Smith of Washington, Carol Holmes of Vienna, Teresa Holmes, Linda Holmes, both of Nevada, and Melissa Holmes of Oneida; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Robert Holmes of Rome, Mike and Billie Jo Janes of North Bay, Marty and Laurie Holmes of Camden, and Rick and Cassandra Holmes of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Hailee Brown and Silas Finen. Mark was predeceased by his father, Roger Janes, his step-father, Ray Holmes, and a brother, Ray Holmes, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Jewell Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Route 13, Camden.
