CAMDEN >> David M. Seubert, 79, of Dutch Road, Camden passed away on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at the home of his daughter Jill in Manlius, N.Y. He was born on June 20, 1934 to David A. and Lena B. Sweeney Seubert. On July 2, 1960 he married Joyce Finnerty in Camden. He was a graduate of Camden Central School Class of 1952. He graduated from the General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich. in 1954 and briefly joined his father in car sales at Seubert Buick. He then enlisted and served for two years in the US Army from 1955-1957. After his discharge he took advantage of the GI Bill and received his undergraduate degree in education from Niagara University and taught social studies for three years at the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill School District. He left teaching to pursue a career as a regional sales representative for Harden Furniture covering the central New York, Pennsylvania and Canadian territories, retiring at the age of 78.
He was dedicated public servant and served his community for many years in the capacity of town justice and as a St. John's Church trustee. Until the time of his death David served on the Camden Town Board as a councilman. He was also a member of the Camden Bombers Softball League for several years. David spent a great deal of time traveling both domestically and internationally with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He possessed a great sense of humor and was self-effacing and altruistic. David was known as a man of deep faith and devotion to God. Throughout his arduous medical treatments for his advanced metastatic disease, he forged ahead with quiet determination and faith deeply engrained in every fiber of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son Dr. David, of Sylvan Beach and Rochester; daughter, Karen Justman (Mark), of Havertown, Pa., and daughter, Jill Gallagher (Brian) of Manlius, N.Y., along with grandchildren, Jack Lamberton and Elise Justman. David is also survived by a sister, Jane Moore, of Fayetteville, N.Y., and a brother, John Seubert, of Manlius, N.Y. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Edward Finnerty.
Calling hours will be held at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Main Street, Camden on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and 10:30 at St. John's Church, Camden officiated by Rev.
