Douglas Ewen Obituary
Born in Alameda, Calif. on June 4, 1950, he was the son of Douglas G. and Lois Benning Ewen Sr. A resident of the area for the past 17 years, moving from Nevada, Mr. Ewen graduated from high school in Coronado, Calif. and the City College of San Diego. He married Rebecca Prior in Coronado, Calif. on Feb. 13, 1993.
Mr. Ewen had currently been employed by the Oneida Indian Nation and had previously been employed by USAirways and AmTrak. He had a great interest in all transportation fields and traveling and was a collector of match book covers.
Surviving besides his wife, Rebecca are: one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Lowell Billings of Coronado, Calif.; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bev and Tony Eriole of Sherrill and Michelle and Michael Yeoman of Oneida; his wife's parents, Richard and DeLoryce Prior of Verona; several nieces and nephews and his beloved "fur babies," his dog, Sandy and his cats, Callie, Maxi and Kirby.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Friday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. Friday, prior to the funeral service. Becky, I was so so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Another very thoughtful caring person who still had so much to offer this world, taken too soon. Why? We cannot answer that question. But now you have a beautiful angel watching over you. I hope you find much comfort in the love of family and friends to carry you through the days ahead. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Talking to you two last year at the talent show is forever etched in my memory. You two were and still are true soulmates.

A terrible loss! I worked with and became friends with Doug in Anchorage, Alaska. We remained good friends these past 30 years even though our paths crossed only a few times since then. He will be missed!
