TOWN AND COUNTRY, MO. - Howard Stringer Gleason passed away, Monday, Dec. 17, 2012.

Beloved husband of Hesper Gleason (nee Hoyt); loving father of Beth and Robert Gleason; grandfather of Jesse and Kathryn Euler and Arianna (Bryan Holbrook), Spencer and Della Anne Gleason; great-grandfather of Hailee, Wyatt and Howard (Bud); brother of the late Robert Merrill Gleason.
Howard (Bud) Stringer Gleason was born in Canastota, N.Y. on Oct. 17, 1921. He graduated from Canastota High School in 1939 and subsequently graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1943 and immediately joined the Marine Corps. He served in the South Pacific and China. After the war he was a research engineer with the Stromberg Carlson Co., receiving 12 patents in telephony, magnetic recording and high speed printing. Later he was Manager of Automation in charge of developing one of the first automatic electronic assembly lines and numerically controlled milling machines. He retired in 1982 as Vice President in the electronics company of McDonnell Douglas Corporation. He volunteered at Wings of Hope. His primary hobby was making documentary videos. He loved his country!
Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Canastota, N.Y. at a time to be announced.
