SHERRILL >> Robert W. Ingraham, 93, formerly of Hill Road, Oneida, and Noyes Manor, died Thursday evening, July 4, 2013, in the Oneida Extended Care Facility, where he was a resident for the past two weeks.
He was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Oneida, the son of Charles and Eathel Wood Ingraham. On April 12, 1947, he was united in marriage to the former Catherine Helen Lahah. Mrs. Ingraham died March 25, 2012. Mr. Ingraham had been employed as a dispatcher for Consolidated Freightways in Marcy. He was a life member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, where he had served as Exalted Ruler, served in most all of the Lodge Chairs, and was an expert in Ritualistic work and for many years he was the Lodge Chaplain, and was the former Chairman of the Handicapped Children's Picnic. Bob was also a member of the Oneida Sherrill Masonic Lodge, and the Ziyara Shrine Temple of Utica and the Oneida Owls Nest No. 1606.
Surviving are one son, Richard Ingraham, and his companion, Carol DelaHunt of Statesville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Pauline Waldron, Rick Ingraham, and Shawn Zeller, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8, 2013, at 4 p.m. from the Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave., Oneida, with the Rev. Brian McCaffrey, chaplain of the Lutheran Care, officiating. Interment will be made on Tuesday at the convenience of the family in Valley View Cemetery, Oneida. Friends are invited and may call on Monday from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home preceding the service. The officers and members of Oneida Lodge 767, will meet Monday afternoon at the funeral home for a ritual service for Bob at 3:30 p.m.
