ONEIDA CASTLE >> William J. Driscoll III, 57, of Seneca Avenue, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 at his home, following a three month illness.
Born on Sept. 26, 1956 in Oneida, he was a son of William J. Jr. and Jean West Driscoll. Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Oneida High School.
Bill was currently employed with H.P. Hood, Inc. as a foreman. He was of the Methodist faith and proudly served as a lance corporal with the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Okinawa and Japan from 1974 to 1976.
Surviving are two daughters, Amber Driscoll and Ashley Driscoll both of Rome; one son, Andrew W. Driscoll of Durhamville; his father and step-mother, William J. Jr. and Cynthia Driscoll of Oneida; his mother, Jean Robinson of Oneida; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Kenneth E. and Jane Driscoll of Chittenango, Douglas A. Driscoll of Rome, Jeffrey S. Driscoll of Oneida, Eric and Jennifer Driscoll of Chittenango and Robert S. Driscoll of Waterford; three grandchildren, Ayden, Ashton and Robert; his caregiver and former wife, Denise Kitchen; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-7 p.m. Wednesday. Interment, with full military honors, will be made in West Verona Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, N.Y. 13413.
