NORTH BAY >> Charles (Chuck) Christian, 51, of North Bay, Feb. 22, 2014 died surrounded by family at his North Bay home after a short battle with oral cancer.
He was born Oct. 11, 1962 in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of Harriett (Pat) Christian and Charles Christian. On Jan. 26, 1990 he was united in marriage to Shirley Christian (Hollenbeck) daughter of Kenneth J. Sr. and Mary Hollenbeck Sr. He enjoyed time with family and friends, music, fishing, boating, horseshoes and family games. His employers over his life were, ABC Office Supply in Baldwinsville, JTS Joe Trionfero Music & DJ service, Letter Graphics of Syracuse, Magnavox/Philips Electronics of Manlius, Hartman of Oneida and currently Bartell Machinery in Rome. He attended OCC, Leigh University, and MVCC.
Chuck is survived by his wife; one son, Christopher Christian; one daughter, Tiffany Christian; one granddaughter, Elena Lynne Anne Christian; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Bill Clifton of Charlotte, N.C., Vicki and John Dale of West Monroe and Pamela and Tim Miller of Hastings; his wife's family, three brothers-in-law, Kenneth J. Hollenbeck Jr. of Canastota, Charles L. and Melissa (Page) Hollenbeck of Smithfield and Bruce Hollenbeck of Canastota; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Waterman of Vernon, Karen and Larry James of Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by both parents. He will be cremated via the services of the Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave., Oneida, N.Y. 13421.
No calling hours or funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider joining his family in a "Celebration of Life Benefit Dinner" at Rusty Rail on March 1 from 3-7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $25/couple, $15/single adult and $5/children 9-16.
