Martha Wilkinson Dutcher Obituary
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. >> Martha Wilkinson Dutcher, a long-time resident of the Hendersonville area, passed into heaven Monday, the 6th of November at Four Seasons Elizabeth House.

Born in 1936 in Canastota, N.Y., Marti received her angel wings early being such a blessing to everyone she touched. Her numerous handmade quilts and 800 plus baby blankets donated to local causes and Project Linus throughout Western North Carolina were blessings to hundreds of recipients. She continued to give as a charter member of the Edneyville Community Lion's Club.

Marti was raised on the Wilkinson family farm on Roberts Street and graduated from Canastota High School in 1955. She held many positions throughout her life, all involving selfless service to others, for that is where she found happiness and fulfillment.

Marti loved listening to live country music, camping at Brown's Campground and Sandy Point Private Club, eating ice cream, painting scenic beauty, and baking pies for her family and friends. Some of her recipes still delight guests of Hendersonville's Fireside Restaurant. As a loyal member of the Fruitland Baptist Church, Marti also loved the Lord.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; daughter, Donna Wickens; sons, Michael Wickens and Steven Dutcher; sisters, Esther Stokes and Verna Holdridge; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Marti is predeceased by her eldest daughter, Debra Wickens Tweedale; brothers, Richard, Marlin and Gordon Wilkinson; sisters, Ciel Patrick and Shirley Clark; and grandson, Christopher Wickens.

In lieu of flowers, as a memorial to Marti's life, gifts can be made to the Edneyville Community Lions Club at P.O. 289, Edneyville, N.C. 28727.

A viewing (2-3 p.m.) and memorial service (3-4 p.m.) for Marti will take place at Jackson Funeral Home, 1101 Greenville Highway, Hendersonville, N.C. 28793 on Nov. 9, 2017.
