Orlean was born in Goshen, N.Y., a daughter of Lloyd and Loretta Mott. She attended elementary school in Walden, N.Y. Orlean enjoyed many church and community related activities, such as singing in the South Valley church choir, the United Methodist Women of Christ Church in Sherrill, and the Sherrill Garden Club.
Most of all, Orlean enjoyed sharing her loving kindness with friends, neighbors, and family. Her kind words, gentle hugs, and playful personality always left a lasting impression. She also enjoyed knitting, drawing, and her jewelry collection. Orlean was a very special person.
