CANASTOTA - Roberta Wollaber Barott Rosekrans, 84, completed her life's journey peacefully Thursday evening, June 21, 2012, in the Masonic Care Community of Utica where she had been a resident since May 10, 2012 following a lengthy illness.

Roberta was born on Jan. 9, 1928 in Mohawk, the daughter of Lynn and Maude Fraleigh Wollaber. She had been a resident of Canastota since 1941.
She attended Mohawk Schools and was a graduate of Canastota High School class of 1945 and the Powelson Business School.
Working in the Madison County Court House from 1947 until her retirement in 1985, she served as deputy county clerk, deputy commissioner of jurors and for 15 years was the secretary to the Supreme Court justice.
In 1951, Roberta married Roger Barott who predeceased her in 1985. During those years, she and her husband co-owned Barott Farmlands and Barott Tree Nursery.
On April 8, 1988 she married Dr. Douglas H. Rosekrans in Liverpool. She then became a very active volunteer and still had a deep passion for caring for the land.
Roberta was the family maître D. She was the cook, baker and hostess of every frequent gathering at her home. The consummate homemaker she also took pride and joy in her flower gardens and arrangements. She was always busy with projects and had a reputation for her own "to do" list.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Oneida, the Canastota American Legion Auxiliary, American Association of Retired Persons and had served as a volunteer with the AARP Driver Safety Program. She was also a member and past president of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Board of Directors. Roberta served as a deacon and elder and was a member of the Administrative Board of the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches of Canastota.
Survivors include her loving husband Douglas; two sisters Shirley Leneker of Verona and Jean Wollaber of Oneida; her nieces Claudia (Dick) Petersen of Glenwood, Dr. Karla (Bill) Mulligan of Geneseo and Kris Ann (Bob) Albercht of Connecticut; two step-sons, Mark (Sharon) Rosekrans, John (Colleen) Rosekrans both of Liverpool; two step-daughters, Ruth Rosekrans of Baldwinsville and Kathleen (David) Farrar of Cato; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews and step-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held 5:30 p.m. Friday June 29, 2012 from the First Presbyterian Church 304 Broad St. Oneida with the Rev. Stuart C. Wattles and the Rev. Robert Wollaber co-officiating. Interment will be made in Mount Pleasant Cemetery Canastota. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to one of Roberta's favorite charities: Mount Pleasant Cemetery Association of Canastota, c/o Wayne Anderson 542 Florence Ave. Oneida, NY 13421 or the First Presbyterian Church of Oneida Memorial Fund 304 Broad St. Oneida, NY 13421.
