ONEIDA >> Ruth C. Foster, 85, formerly of Sherrill, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at the Extended Care Facility, where she had been a resident since June of 2006.
Born in Canastota on Aug. 13, 1928, Ruth was a daughter of Donato M. and Rosalia Bonaventura Capparelli and a graduate of Canastota High School. She married Frank W. Foster in St. Agatha's Church on July 3, 1954. Mr. Foster died May 1, 1986.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Foster was employed with Oneida Limited and had previously been employed with Dr. Malloff Dentist Office in Canastota. Ruth is a communicant of St. Helena's Church and a member of the prayer group. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and the entire St. Patrick's School community where she was loved as a grandmother to all. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness and generosity as well as for her cooking, baking, gracious hospitality and those classic sayings. "Thanks for the memories."
Surviving are two daughters, Terri Foster of Sherrill and Myra Foster of Arlington, Vt.; two grandchildren, Matthew Cuda and Jaclyn Ruth Cuda and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Theresa Jablonski and Angela Capparelli and six brothers, Robert, Nicholas, Edward, Donald, Michael and Roger Capparelli.
Ruth's family wishes to thank Oneida Extended Care Facility for the love, care and support given to Ruth and her family during the times of her care.
Funeral services will be held 9:45 a.m. Monday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida and 10:30 a.m. from St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro St., Canastota where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be made in St. Helena's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 1-5 p.m., Sunday.
