VERNON >> Sophia Marcelle Keyes, age 4 of Vernon N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 2, 2013 at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y.
Sophia was born on March 17, 2009 in Hamilton N.Y., precious daughter of Barbara and Justin Keyes.
Sophia was a pre-kindergarten student at Wettel Elementary School in Vernon.
Sophia loved to swim, read, draw, sing and dance. She enjoyed playing outside, riding her bike and catching caterpillars with her brothers. Sophia also loved to sneak in her mom and dad's room every night to get into bed with them. More than anything, Sophia loved to tease her brothers.
Sophia is survived by her father Justin Keyes, her mother Barbara Keyes and her partner Tim Moyer; her brothers, Jacob LaLonde and Dylan Keyes; her "big sister" Paige Moyer; her maternal grandparents, Dawn Butler of Sherrill, N.Y. and Mark Chesebro and his fiancé Donna Tomlin of Verona, N.Y.; her paternal grandparents Patricia Keyes of Whitesboro, N.Y. and Alan Keyes of Greensboro, N.C.; great-grandmother Jean Kehoe of Rome, N.Y.; grandma Liz Moyer of Madison, N.Y.; her aunts and uncles, Jessica and Jamie Chamberlain of Oneida, N.Y., Kelly and Patrick Flynn of Greensboro, N.C.; Cheyenne Wright of Canastota, N.Y., Tom and Kelly Moyer of Madison, N.Y., Jeffrey and Molly Moyer of Hamilton, N.Y.; and several cousins, Madison, Mark, Alexis, Jada, Lyrik, DaeShaun, Isabella, Amics, Kylah, Mackenzie, Alyssa and Jenna as well as several great aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be held today, Oct. 6, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home located at 40 Main St. Whitesboro, NY 13492.
Funeral Services will be private for family and close friends.
