William E. Kroth Obituary
VERNON >> William E. Kroth, 82, of State Route 26 formerly of Oneida Castle, died early Thursday morning, Feb. 13, 2014 in James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse where he was a resident for the past six and a half years.
Born in Canastota on March 31, 1931, he was a son of William and Alice Reisner Kroth. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Bill was a graduate of Oneida High School. He married Louise Houck in Altoona, Pa. on June 13, 1970.
Prior to his retirement, Bill was the owner and operator of Kroth Appliance Center from 1979 to 1997 and formerly was employed with Markson Brothers Furniture for 27 years. He was a member of the Greater Oneida Area Chamber of Commerce, was a Boy Scout leader and was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. Mr. Kroth was a veteran of the National Guard, serving from 1948 to 1952.
Surviving besides his wife, Louise, are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Bambie Pantelia of Oneida, Tyann Richer and Alan Baum of Oneida and Corinna and Nick Dyer Kroth of Oneida; six sons and three daughters-in-law, William and Deborah Kroth of Houston, Texas, Karl Kroth of Munnsville, Joseph and Kathy Kroth of Yakima, Wash., David Rinaldo of Oneida, Jeffrey Kroth and his fiancée, Jennifer Schlag of Vernon and Timothy Kroth of Oneida; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Noel and Joseph Lazaroni of Buffalo and Marlea Stagnitti of Canastota; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James Kroth of Syracuse and John Kroth of North Carolina; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Christopher Kroth and two sisters, Mary Lou Smith and Alice Rose Garver.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida with the Rev. Richard Kapral, officiating. Interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 1-4 p.m. Sunday, prior to the funeral service.
